Social Marketing Makes a Big Impression

The Challenge

A large tax and financial services company was on a mission to increase the financial fitness of America’s youth. They wanted to raise awareness of their many resources for teachers and hear from teachers the best ideas for teaching financial literacy that they could incorporate into their marketing and website.

The Solution

MDR advised the company to sponsor a grant program on the WeAreTeachers site with significant cash prizes. Educators could share their best financial literacy lesson plan to be entered to win. Every educator was also offered an educator discount on their tax preparation. The winners were selected by a teacher panel, and the top 15 best lesson plans were featured on the WeAreTeachers landing page.

The Toolkit

  • Email
  • Social Media Promotion on Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest
  • Blog Article

The Result

The company received more than 100 lesson plan ideas for teaching financial literacy, and a teacher panel helped identify the best ideas to highlight. The program generated more than 1.4 million impressions.

“Our client not only received valuable brand exposure, but they also received great ideas from teachers on how to reach a young audience that needs financial literacy skills. They were thrilled to have a new way to reach out to teachers who shared their fresh and proven ideas for teaching this important life skill.”
